Welcome to Our Chapter

Dayton, Ohio is the birthplace, home, and future of aerospace. It is also home for the Wright Brothers Regional (WBR) Chapter of the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA). NDIA provides individuals from academia, government, the military services, small businesses, prime contractors, and the international community, the opportunity to network effectively with the government-industry team, keep abreast of the latest in technology developments, and address and influence issues as well as government policies critical to the health of the defense industry and the preservation of our national security.

This website is intended to communicate the general roles, objectives and activities of the Wright Brothers Regional Chapter's Industry Executive Committee. Further, it is intended to advise our government friends and business associates of our Chapter's availability to assist them in any way possible consistent with NDIA objectives and to positively further government/industry partnering.

Message from the President

The NDIA Wright Brothers Regional Chapter (WBRC) is proud to be an active and important contributor to the success of WPAFB and the Ohio-Indiana-Kentucky defense community providing a trusted team and partner in support of the DoD mission. Our WBRC is unique in its composition, where our Executive Committee is the interactive part of our Chapter representing a cross section of companies and our membership providing both a local and national level view across the Air and Space Domain. Through our 1700+ regional members, we are pleased to be an active participant with Air Force and DoD senior leadership to enhance the nation’s defense capabilities.  As with most associations, 2020 was the year of change and adaptability. We, like others, innovated to keep the communications flowing through the establishment of new virtual speaker sessions with senior AFMC, AFLCMC, and AFRL leadership. In August, we held a successful 56th Annual Golf Classic at Sycamore Country Club under restricted Covid protocols. The event proceedings allowed us to again sponsor the local USO, Fischer Nightingale House, WPAFB Airman and Family Readiness Center, as well as the WPAFB Chief’s Group with charitable donations similar to prior years. We were also able to again financially support the 2021 STEM program through exceptional donations from our corporate partners and individuals. The STEM program sponsors two competitively selected teachers in comprehensive STEM related training throughout the year. Our Chapter volunteers leading and supporting these events and activities play a big part in giving back to the community and are very much appreciated! All this hard work led to the WBRC being selected as a 2020 National level NDIA “Chapter of Excellence." Pressing forward into 2021, we look forward to assisting AFLCMC with their Life Cycle Industry Days (LCID), holding our 57th Annual Golf Classic, supporting the Executive Weapons System Review (EWSR) social event, assisting with the Dayton Air Show, holding in-person or virtual Speaker Sessions, interacting throughout the local community, and continuing to support our local charities. We are eager to once again engage directly in-person in 2021 as favorable progress continues related to Covid. We are excited to support the planned 2021 calendar events and activities and continue to look for new ways for our Chapter to enhance local and overall NDIA National level goals and events.
