Who We Are
The Women In Defense Capital Chapter (WID-DC) supports more than 600 members across the National Capital Region and provides opportunities throughout the year, and around the region, for its members to meet, learn, and grow. WID-DC provides development, mentorship, and scholarship opportunities that ensure America’s future has a vanguard of talented and devoted women serving our national security mission in government, private, and national community service positions.
We are a community of powerful women supporting the defense and national security industries.
What We Do
The WID Capital Chapter has various strategic objectives:
- Engage with our 350+ members through messaging and events on critical national security issues
- Host informal networking events, professional development opportunities, and substantive panel discussions, among other opportunities
- Support women in defense in a variety of ways, including by supporting the WID Scholar program and mentoring young women interested in careers in national security
